Digital Back For Arri 16mm Ships

P+S Digital BackP+S TECHNIK are taking orders for the first units of 16Digital Mag for SRIII cameras. The 16Digital Mag transforms 16SRIII film cameras into digital HD cameras.

The 16Digital Mag for SRIII cameras features removable SSDs. The NAB beta units capture 1920 x 1080 10bit 4:2:2 with up to 30 fps and offer flicker-free HD video assist output for monitoring and live workflows as well as CineForm recording.

This allows film camera owners to go digital and revive their trusty SRIII equipment. Cameras that they are comfortable using and have had thousands invested in lenses and accessories for can be converted to a digital camera by attaching this digital mag while they can go back to film when ever needed.

“The migration from film to digital is an important challenge for our customers. P+S TECHNIK faces this challenge and combines innovative steps forward in Digital Film and High Definition. No other camera model on the market gives you the freedom to shoot and capture Digital Film, High Definition and analogue film”, said Michael Erkelenz, Manager Business, Unit Digital Capturing at P+S TECHNIK.

The 16Digital Mag for SRIII cameras includes a wireless operation concept via iPhone, iPad, net- and notebooks.

The 16Digital Mag for SRIII from P+S TECHNIK will include native support for CineForm RAW 12-bit format and the CineForm HD 10-bit 4:2:2 format. The implementation of these formats in the 16Digital Mag allows for the user to choose between Digital Film, High Definition and analogue film.

The first units of the 16Digital SRIII Mag will be delivered in June 2011.
