Panasonic's 2/3 type, 3 chip AJ-PX5000G AVC-ultra P2 HD camcorder with Micro P2 card slots and AVC-long g 1080/50p recording.Panasonic has announced the AJ-PX5000G, its first P2 HD camcorder with native AVC-ULTRA recording and built-in microP2 card slots. The PX5000G features 720p and 1080p/i recording, as well as 1080/50p recording, a first for P2 HD cameras.

NAB 2013: Canon XA25 And XA20 Videographer's Camcorders

What Is It? Two new camcorders bound for the videography market. How Much? $3.199 & $2,699. On Sale? June 2013.Looking just like the existing XA10 camcorder which is really a 'palm corder', Canon has release details on it's big brothers, the XA20 & XA25. These models are still small and very light at around 2.6 pounds (1.18Kg). Both camcorders feature multiple shooting-assist functions and a newly developed wide-angle 20x HD zoom lens with an ENG-style “rocker” zoom control and built-in real-time optical image stabilisation.There is also a new sensor a high-sensitivity 2.91-megapixel 1/2.84-inch HD CMOS image sensor managed by the new Canon DIGIC DV 4 image processor.

NAB 2013: Cobham HD MPEG4 IP Encoder

What Is It? Encoder enabling HD across IP networks. How Much? Unknown. On Sale? This quarter.Cobham is showing a new HD MPEG4 IP Encoder at NAB 2013. The company promises that with the encoder a camera operator can instantly establish bi-directional communication and transmit live, broadcast-quality HD video from anywhere with access to broadband connectivity. The encoder provides even more bit rate efficiency with standard, low and ultra-low latency modes. Power consumption rated at 7-9 watts.

A control panel on the encoder enables a cameraman to select a range of different pre-sets directly from the box rather waste time connecting to and configuring via a laptop. It also offers the option of broadcast-standard IFB talkback, which takes advantage of in-built Bluetooth and WiFi for complete wireless connectivity.
