Broadcast Video Expo and The Production Show to move to ExCeL in 2013

BVE's move to the ExCel Centre will happen in 2013,but will it attract what is still a West London based industry? The UK's premier video production show, The Broadcast Video Expo (BVE), and sister event The Production Show (TPS), will have a new home in 2013. Prompted by the uncertainty over the future of Earls Court, ExCeL has been selected as the best venue to support the planned investment in the shows’ content and growth.

“BVE and TPS have grown rapidly over the last few years and now is the perfect time to move to a bigger home,” said Event Director Charlotte Wheeler. “We need a venue that will allow us to offer better, state of the art facilities for more exciting seminars and features. Visitor numbers to this year’s show were up 35% year on year and with 70% of our exhibitors rebooking onsite. We have huge ambitions in growing the show and the move to a new, purpose-built exhibition venue is just the start.”

ExCeL offers excellent links to both Europe and rest of the UK via London City Airport but won’t be popular with major broadcasters and post production studios who traditionally won’t travel distances for trade shows from their West London bases, although the Olympics have accelerated the improvements to this part of London.
